Our experience building and co-designing the REAL People’s Fund led to how we directly shape, manage, and activate our national reparative capital fund, the RUNWAY ROOTED Fund.

We launched our pilot rapid emergency fund in March 2020, offering six months of no-strings-attached Universal Basic Income (UBI) to support our entrepreneur community during the pandemic. The pilot allowed us to hypothesize whether this type of supplemental income could be curative for the racial wealth gap. Out of the 30 Black-owned businesses in our inaugural UBI program consortium, not a single one has had to close up shop due to the pandemic shutdowns.
Training & Education
Transforming finance begins with (un)learning what we know about wealth and power. Our Training & Education programs equip our entire ecosystem—including funders, investors, movement organizations, entrepreneurs, and community partners—with the tools and frameworks to lead in a reparative financial future.
